Once you’ve eaten your fill, you’re going to want to do something active to burn off at least some of those calories. Luckily for you, Plano has plenty of green space where you can let your hair down and walk, run or just sit yourself down and take a load off. From wide open parks to winding woodland trails, there’s no shortage of beautiful nature attractions here!

Take the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve for example. Under the gentle sun you can simply take in the exquisite beauty of nature in all its glory as you breathe deeply and become one with the earth. It’s an experience like no other!

For something a bit more interactive, there’s also the Heritage Farmstead, a charming and historically accurate recreation of a late 19th century-era Texan homestead. You can take part in a guided tour of the homestead if you’d like, or you can show yourself around, taking in each of the exhibits as you see fit. Regardless which you prefer, you’ll likely find yourself coming back time and time again.

The Spring Creek Nature Area is another place where you can engage in activities such as walking, running or picnicking at no charge, courtesy of Plano’s local Parks and Recreation department. With miles upon miles of lush green forest to explore along with beautiful monuments and natural landmarks, you won’t be able to help having a good time while you’re in this beautiful park!
